We believe the gym should be more than just a place to work out. It should be a place where people look out for each other, where relationships matter, and where you feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger than yourself.
Our coaches want to get to know you, your life, your goals, your story, and help you thrive both inside and outside the gym. Your time here should be the best hour of your day, spent alongside people who make you better and bring out your best.

Serve Others: We believe in showing up for more than just ourselves. Whether it’s cheering on the person next to you, helping clean up after class, or simply offering a smile, we look for ways to make someone else’s day better. That’s what community is all about.

Work Hard: Results don’t come from shortcuts. They come from effort, consistency, and showing up even when it’s hard. Our members bring effort every day, not because they have to, but because they know who they want to become, and they’re willing to earn it.

Be Humble: There’s always more to learn, more ways to grow. We value feedback, we support others’ progress, and we don’t need to prove anything to anyone. We stay grounded, coachable, and focused on what really matters, doing things the right way, not the flashy way.
MEET THE COACHES

Growing up, Kevin was deeply immersed in team sports, with football and lacrosse shaping much of his athletic foundation. CrossFit appealed to him not just because of the physical challenge, but because it mirrored the same sense of grit, discipline, and camaraderie that he experienced on the field.
Together Kevin and Hayley opened CrossFit Topside in 2022.They built Topside to be a place where people could pursue personal growth, surrounded by a community that genuinely supports one another.
Kevin’s coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that the way we train should prepare us for life, not just workouts. It’s not about being the best in the gym; it’s about being ready physically, emotionally, and mentally for whatever life throws your way. He believes in training smarter, not just harder, and sees fitness as a tool to unlock the best version of yourself.
Kevin leads with calm, purpose-driven energy. He believes in showing up, doing the work, and letting your actions speak for themselves. His favorite quote says it best:
“Your actions speak so loudly, I can not hear what you are saying.”

Growing up, Hayley was a multi-sport athlete, having played field hockey, lacrosse, and dabbling in basketball. She carried her lacrosse career on through college, where she played at York College of Pennsylvania.
Hayley practiced the CrossFit methodology as a means of preparation for the upcoming lacrosse season. Now, she looks forward to the opportunity to be challenged in the company of others within the walls of the gym.
Hayley believes that a barbell, a couple of burpees, or a little bit of running will always challenge you, but nothing will promote your wellness quite like the community that CrossFit offers. She truly believes CrossFit helps create even better people and aims to foster such an environment at CrossFit Topside.

In the gym, Katelyn brings an encouraging and energetic coaching style, focusing on helping athletes build confidence, improve technique, and enjoy the overall process. She strives to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels supported and motivated, no matter their starting point.
Katelyn holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Regis College in Massachusetts. Outside of coaching, she enjoys continuing to play tennis, spending time with friends and family, and visiting local breweries throughout Connecticut.

She completed both her undergraduate degree in Biology and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Sacred Heart University. Christina now serves as the Director of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers in Newington, where she leads a team focused on improving movement, building strength, and supporting active lifestyles. She also holds a strength and conditioning certification, further supporting her ability to coach performance with purpose and programming backed by movement science.
Coaching is a natural extension of her career she loves seeing athletes grow stronger, move with confidence, and reach new milestones. Whether it’s refining technique or unlocking new levels of performance, Christina is committed to helping individuals push their boundaries and recognize their potential.
Outside the gym and clinic, Christina enjoys traveling, taking on creative DIY projects, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs. Her favorite destination remains Hawaii, a place that continues to inspire her sense of adventure. Christina believes in training with intention, moving well, and celebrating progress at every stage of the journey.
